Bowie Lochead 11/30 -12/14

11/30 Back to Work! // Loose Leash Walking

Bowie worked on some loose leash walking with me outside with Bowie on a extra long longline.  It was so long that he was not able to really pull on the leash as the area we were in was much smaller than the total length of the leash.  He was pretty distracted at first, but we built up our focus and after some sniffing and checking out the new place, Bowie did some very nice loose leash walking.  He was so good! –Jenny

12/1 Polite Greeting/doorways

Bowie and I worked on his polite greetings as well as loose leash walking through doorways. He tried to jump on Robin, the other trainer who was helping with the polite greetings, so he needs a little more work on this but he was successful a few times also – Whitney

12/1 Basics

Bowie worked on a little bit of everything this afternoon. He did sit, down, stay, no jump, and confidence building. He was a unsure of a wall outlet and trashcan so we spent some time getting him confident around that. He made a lot of progress today! – Robin

12/2 Stay with proofing

Bowie does quite a good job holding his stay until cheese is dropped on the ground & then all bets are off!  So I worked on having him hold his stays for longer & shorter periods, ping ponging the length of time so he doesn’t know when he’ll be released.  He did a great job but needs more until cheese on the ground is not a temptation to break his stay but a reward for him holding until given the release word.  I know he can do this so we’ll keep working on it – Diana

12/3 Stay with dog distraction/Dog Focus

The plan today was to work with Bowie on stays with the distraction of another dog present, but we only got a few short stays in. He was so excited by the presence of another dog I ended up spending time working with him on dog focus, more than stay. I was able to help him work through the distraction of the other dog and managed to keep his attention for the most part, so we saw some improvement in the session – Whitney

12/3 Leave It with Koby

Bowie did well with this. It was tough for him at times, and more practice with leave-it will be beneficial, but I was pleased with his ability to maintain focus with both outdoor distractions, and dog distractions in play! Good boy!  Remy

12/4 llw lobby

Bowie did a great job working in the lobby today! We did a polite greeting with Rachel and worked on some loose leash walking. -Amanda

12/05 Focus outside

Terrific session with Bowie this afternoon. He is really coming along.  He was focused & kept checking back in with me even when I released him.  – Diana

12/5 Dog Focus

Bowie did very well with this today! He did try lunging at the other dog a few times, but he did recover attention and was able to walk by him at some distance.  great work! – Whitney

12/5 Rally Obedience

Bowie and I had fun working this rally course today. His loose leash walking has really come a long way and even though he had a few moments of being distracted he still recovered his attention – Whitney

12/6 Polite greetings, general manners
Bowie worked on polite greetings and general manners in the lobby today. He was a bit jumpy but gave some really nice focus. –Sorrel

12/6 Field Trip!

We took a trip over to our neighboring building. Bowie got a chance to practice loose leash walking, door manners, dog focus and politely greeting new human friends! He did a stellar job with all that he was asked of! Good boy, Bowie!  Remy

12/7 Cot Boundaries

Bowie worked on some boundaries and impulse control in this session and did a great job!  We need to still work on building value for the cot and getting a more consistent down, but we are getting there! –Jenny

12/7 Basics outside

Bowie was still a bit distracted, but made good progress! He works better for play than he does for treats outside. –Sorrel

12/8 Leash Manners

Today we worked on our leash manners and did some work for play.  Bowie was a little distracted by the toys I had and wanted to jump on me at first, but after the first few minutes he settled back into working and giving me focus and attention very nicely. Liz

12/8 Play Manners

Bowie worked on not jumping even when he was super excited (like when he is playing with a tennis ball). Even though he had a lot of energy and was very excited he resisted the urge to jump on me. This will help him mind his manners when he is playing with people – Robin

12/09 Sit, Stay, release to ball

Bowie worked on Sit, Stay, Release for play.  (Sorry, the camera ran out of juice just as we started).  He did great, holding his sit/stay & not breaking until released to ball toss.  He wasn’t too sure about giving up the ball until I upped the exchange & offered peanut butter on my finger, Success!!!  He became the worlds best retriever ;0) – Diana

12/10 Polite Greetings

Bowie did great with this today! I noticed he still struggles some with jumping up so I think it is important to continue to reinforce no jumping when people approach. When we remained calm and with constant reinforcement with treats, he was able to keep his feet on the floor! – Whitney

12/10 Doorways

Bowie did a great job with this! He was well focused, and progressed nicely throughout our session! Great job!  Remy

12/11 loose leash walking

Bowie and I worked outside today and he did great! We worked on heeling and focus in our grassy area and even with distractions he did nicely! -Amanda

12/11 Lobby Settle // Duration Down

Bowie did a great job with this! He was well focused, and progressed with holding his down. Great job!  Remy

12/12 Mat work for stay

We worked on building his stay on a mat & reinforced his willingness to hold the down on the mat. – Diana

12/12 Loose Leash Walking/Doors

Today we had the extra distractions of having two new trainee staff members in the room to observe the training session. Bowie very much wanted to go say hi so this was a challenge! He was able to regain his focus and also did great practicing staying at my side while going through the doorways. great work Bowie! – Whitney

12/13 Impulse control and manners in lobby

Especially with the high level of distractions we had today, Bowie did absolutely FABULOUS. He struggled a bite with holding sit coming back into the building from the front door, but had some great door manners going out, and great focus overall.  –Sorrel

12/13 Cafe Training

Bowie did a great job with this! He was well focused, and progressed nicely with this skill. More practice will help solidify this skill set, but he did a wonderful job throughout our session!  Remy

Beau Carmack 11/27 – 11/30

11/27 Confidence Building // Field Trip

Beau wasn’t too interested in food today, and it’s his first stay at our new location, so we decided to scout out the area! He got lots of sniffs in, and did well being reinforced with affection! Good boy, Beau!  Remy

11/28 Dog Focus

Beau was very interested in sniffing for rabbits outside at first and I had trouble getting his attention, but once he focused, he did amazing! He hardly broke his focus with me during the last few minutes of the session. It just took him a little while to get warmed up. Great work! – Whitney

11/29 Polite greetings, lobby focus

Beau did polite greetings beautifully, but needs some confidence work on the lobby setting, got a bit spooked of the front doors. -Sorrel

Shep Wicks 11/27 – 12/3

11/27 Settle

Shep is a very energetic, bouncy fella! He was a bit jumpy at the start of our session, but quickly was able to gain a calm, relaxed demeanor. He did well with settling, even with added distractions! Well done!  Remy

11/28 Dog focus outside with Koby

Shep worked on keeping his focus on me rather than another dog & he did quite well.  He needs a lot more work for attention but I let him look at Koby & then asked him to focus back to me & got some good responses so he is capable of a lot more – Diana

11/29 Dog Focus with Alfredo

Shep did a wonderful job with his dog focus around another pup today.  He was much more interested in me and working for his goodies! –Jenny

11/30 Focusing in Lobby

Shep did great! Our biggest setback is that he’s pretty bouncy and will jump for treats, but great eagerness to learn! -Sorrel

12/1 Cafe Training

Shep worked on holding a down while I worked at a desk or was messing with the microwave. He’s a high energy guy so I moved him around from room to room so that he wouldn’t get bored. He had a tendency to pop up from his down as soon as I gave him a treat so we will have to work on strengthening his stay release cue. Other than that he did great! – Robin

12/02 Down stay on mat

Using the mat to reinforce holding the down.  He could use more of this but did a great job & was very willing – Diana

Dewey Tabor 11/27-11/30

11/27 lobby/polite greetings

Dewey and I worked in the lobby today on focus and he did great! We did a few polite greetings too! -Amanda

11/27 Field Trip!

Dewey did a great job with this! He was well focused, and responsive to his cues! We practiced a variety of skills such as door manners, loose leash walking, dog focus, and polite greetings on our walk over to our neighboring building. Dewey got a ton of well deserved compliments! Good boy!  Remy

11/28 Loose leash walking

Dewey truly impressed me today with his heeling! He stayed with me, had great attention without me having to hold a treat on his nose. He changed pace, sat automatically when I stopped and turned with me when I changed direction! I would highly recommend you look into rally obedience with him, you can search for it on the AKC website and there are also videos about it on youtube. This is a fun team building activity and we have some of the rally signs and equipment here, it may be something we can work with him on in the future to expand his heeling skills! – Whitney

11/28 Focus with dog distraction

Dewey did a great job working with me whilst in the presence of another dog (J’ai).  He was focused & responded quickly & appropriately when given a cue.  I agree with Whitney, he would be great at Rally O. – Diana

11/29 Dog Focus Outside

Dewey worked on his focus outside around another dog.  He was a gentlemen as usual and did great! –Jenny

11/29 Polite greetings in lobby

Dewey gave a good effort, but was too excited to do a true greeting. Instead we practiced walking up to someone and keeping focus. -Sorrel

Zooey worked on holding her stay until given the release word ‘OK’.  She did a great job, paid close attention & rocked it! – Diana

Zooey worked on her stays with some distractions outside – including another dog!  She was a bouncy girl, but did well overall.  We’ll keep practicing! –Jenny

11/30 Stays with Dog Distraction and Loose Leash Walking

Zooey was a total superstar this session working on proofing her stays and staying focused around another pup.  Way to go sweetie! –Jenny

12/1 Stays with Distractions

Zooey worked on her stays in the lobby and many other rooms while there were distracting people and other dogs nearby. She did awesome! Her distance stay is really good so we spent time working on her duration stay- it improved a lot! – Robin

Mia Bytheway 11/27-12/1

11/27 lobby

Mia and I worked in the lobby today on focus and she did a great job! -Amanda

11/27 Settle

Mia is a go-go-go sorta girl! We worked on settling, and I was very pleased with how she did! She was nicely focused, and progressed throughout our session!  Remy

11/28 Loose leash walking

Mia was very excited today! She began to start to understand to come back to my side after a few repetitions but we will need more work on this, probably inside in a less distracting environment next time. – Whitney

11/28 Dog focus outside

Mia still very easily distracted so I worked on holding her attention, especially in a sit.  She has a tendency to sit until you click & reward & then she’s up like a shot so I worked on rapid reinforcement to hold her in the sit for longer & then try to get several more seconds of stay before releasing her rather than Mia releasing herself.  She did some good work but needs lots more of this kind of attention where she is willing to keep focused for more than just a second or two.  I also let her look at the other dog working with us & then rewarded her for checking back in with me.  This was quite good – Diana

11/29 Mat Outside

Mia worked on building some focus and calm behavior on a raised cot outside.  She did well once she got the idea that the cot was where she was getting all of her goodies.  We’ll keep practicing! –Jenny

11/29 Dog focus w/ Koby

Mia did fabulous! No barking. We are doing more work with her inside in her run to manage barking at other dogs as well, where we treat her for quiet. -Sorrel

11/30 Mat Boundaries Continued

Mia continued to work on building some impulse control using a mat as a method and pattern for building some more focus around distractions – like dogs! I think I’ll use the cot again with her next time, because the blanket we used inside was a little trickier to grasp at first, but Mia eventually offered some BEAUTIFUL downs on the mat.  She had zoomies after, so definitely still challenging for her, but we’ll continue to practice on building calmer behavior on the mat! –Jenny

12/1 Loose leash walking/doorways

Mia and I worked on her loose leash walking, especially staying with me while walking through doorways and not pulling ahead. She is very excitable and curious so this is tough for her. She is making some progress but needs more practice – Whitney

11/27 lobby focus

Mack and I worked in the lobby today and he did great! We worked on doors, focus, and polite greetings! -Amanda

11/28 Leash manners at the door

Mack did a great job with full attention the whole time we worked.  He’s a very good boy – Diana

11/28 Recalls

Mack and I worked on his recalls outside on a long line today. While he was sometimes distracted by smelling for rabbits, he would still come after a few seconds delay. I think he’s ready for even more distractions on this! – Whitney

11/29 CGC Proofing

Mack worked on proofing some of his basics in this session with distractions in the lobby. He did so well but an empty pizza box distraction proved to be more tricky for him. We’ll keep at it! –Jenny

11/29 lobby focus and doorways

Mack did a great job working in the lobby on doorways and even on some impromptu polite greetings! -Amanda

Shemar-Moore Street 11/27-12/2

11/27 lobby focus

Shemar did a great job working on focus today! We also worked on stillness with sit because he was a bit wiggly. -Amanda

11/27 Settle

Shemar did well with this! He was a bit bouncy initially, so we also integrated some no jumping practice into our session. Overall, he did a great job, and settled nicely! Good boy!  Remy

11/28 Basics with attention & No jump

Shemar worked really nicely with no jumping & great focus.  Good steady focus too. – Diana

11/28 Loose leash walking

Shemar did great on his loose leash walking today! He was a little distracted at first but quickly caught on and improved over the course of the session – Whitney

11/29 Focus in Lobby

Shemar had fabulous work ethic today, very eager to learn. Some fabulous heelwork as well. He struggled most on anything involving him to self-focus and avoid distraction, such as stay, holding sit, and not jumping. -Sorrel

11/29 Dog Focus Outside

Shemar was a superstar in our session working on focus around another dog.  He was a pretty excited boy, but refocused nicely and had no reaction to the other pup, only showing some calm interest. Good boy handsome! –Jenny

11/29 Impulse control

Shemar worked on impulse control in the lobby. He has a fabulous heel, but needs more work on self-inhibition, as he tends to mess up when the interaction with the trainer ceases (holding stay or holding down, for instance.) -Sorrel

11/30 Mat Impulse Control and Boundaries // No Jump

Shemar and I worked on building up some impulse control on a mat in this session. I have also found that I get the most jumping form him when we work on something new or challenging – and we did get some jumping!  Overall, Shemar was starting to get the idea, but I think I will use a cot next time to give him and more clear edge to the mat and where he needs to be.  Way to go Shemar – we’ll keep practicing! –Jenny

11/30 Focus in Lobby

Shemar tried his best! His stay still needs a lot of work. He definitely shows a lot of improvement over the course of a 10-minute session, his real focus seems to kick in around the five minute mark. -Sorrel

12/1 Stay

Shemar struggled a bit with stay in the beginning, he wanted to pop right back up as soon as he sat down so I had to build up distance slowly, but by the end of the session he was getting it. Great work! – Whitney

12/1 Stay

Shemar worked more on his stay this afternoon. He worked really hard and made a lot of progress! – Robin

Cooper Street 11/27 – 12/2

11/27 lobby focus

Cooper and I worked in the lobby today and he did great! We even worked on doorways a bit and polite greetings! -Amanda

11/27 Settle

Cooper did a great job with this! He was very well focused, and settled nicely. Great job, sweet guy!  Remy

11/28 Loose leash walking

Cooper began to settle down after his initial excitement and got some good work done on heeling and staying next to me. His focus really improved from the beginning to the end of the session – Whitney

11/28 Loose leash walk with focus

Cooper was very focused & had fun outside walking around the facility.  He checked in with me all the time – Diana

11/29 Dog Counter Conditioning

Cooper worked in some of the outdoor run areas where the pups have their outside time and worked on his reaction to other dogs with a neutral dog named Jai.  Cooper was not too sure about Jai at first, so we rewarded with treats for looking at Jai and looking back at me as well as moving further away from Jai.  Cooper did great! –Jenny

11/29 settle

Cooper and I worked on settling today and he did a great job! I used a frozen kong, working on him being calm on the mat with and without licking the kong. -Amanda

11/30 Dog Counter Conditioning 2

We continued to work on some counter conditioning outside with another dog.  Cooper was a bit more confident this round and did a nice job refocusing and even playing with me a little bit.  –Jenny

11/30 Proofing behaviors in Lobby

Cooper worked today on reducing reinforcers (treats) and proofing his behaviors today (making sure he knows them and can readily do them.) He had a wonderful focus, and great heel work! Definitely still needs some work on sit. –Sorrel

12/1 Polite greeting/doorways

Cooper really seems to struggle with not jumping up when saying hello to new people so this was a challenge! I was able to help him be successful by putting treats on the floor and continuously feeding him while he was getting petted. He looked up and thought about jumping, and was able to stop himself, so he showed he does have some impulse control! We will keep working on it! – Whitney

12/1 Stay

Cooper worked on stay this afternoon. He made a lot of progress! He had a hard time when I put him in a stay and walked directly away from him but was a pro when I walked away towards the side. – Robin

Koby Gil 11/26 – 12/27

11/26 Dog Focus with Jai

Koby did a lovely job! He was well focused, and kept a relaxed demeanor while working alongside Jai! We worked about 15 feet apart at certain points, and Koby was able to look towards Jai, and still respond at lightning speed whenever I asked him to “look”! Great job, sweet fella! (Due to technological difficulties there is no video for this session, I apologize!)  Remy

11/26 Loose Leash Walking

Koby did a great job with this as usual, despite a new setting and new distractions! He was very excited and a little more bouncy than usual but kept himself from jumping up and stayed focused. -Whitney

11/27 release

Koby and I worked on sit duration with a release cue today. He still has a bit of a hard time with movement but did well building up some natural duration! -Amanda

11/27 Settle

Koby did a great job with this! It was tough, right at first, but he quickly caught on and progressed consistently!  Remy

11/28 Stay with release for praise

Koby worked on holding his stay for longer & then releasing on a verbal ‘OK’.  He did a great job & I worked with more praise & less treats & he did great ( something went wrong with the camera so I think I missed getting this on video) – Diana

11/28 Dog Focus

Koby did fantastic with this again today, working with a different dog. His only moment of breaking his focus was when the other dog walked by a little closer than he was ready for and he pulled towards the other dog. But we regained focus quickly after he passed. – Whitney

11/29 Focus in Lobby

Koby worked on focusing in the lobby today, doing heelwork, and being asked to sit in front of the reception desk as well as  hold a down in the waiting area. He had fabulous focus, but needs a lot more work on heel and hind end awareness. -Sorrel

11/29 Dog Focus Outside

Koby worked on some dog focus in this session was SO awesome.  We kept a distance of about 15-20 feet, but he staying focused on me the entire time and did not react to the other dog at all.  Way to go Koby! –Jenny

11/30 Door Manners

This boy was a superstar with his door manners!  He does a great job of refocusing once we get to the other side.  He had a little trouble coming back into the building (I think he wanted to be out of the rain) and we had some visitors come through that were a little too distracting and we had to build some distance to stay focused.  Otherwise – awesome job! –Jenny

11/30 Dog Focus w/ Alfredo

Dig fabulous as a “neutral” dog (a dog that is not trying to engage/bark/stare at another dog) for Alfredo, but his “down” and “stay” need work! He is not sure what to think of the turf and doesn’t want to lay on it. -Sorrel

12/1 Stay

Koby is such a joy to work with, but he loves people so much and is so excited he struggles to stay still! He knows what stay means but just needs more practice with the duration of his stay so we will keep working on it. I also forgot to mention in his blog from Thursday that I discovered that Koby knows how to catch treats! He is such a clever, playful dog! – Whitney

12/1 Leave It

Koby worked on leave it this afternoon. Most of the time he would leave the treat that was on the floor alone but sometimes he would try to use his paw to snag it or sneak it when he thought I wasn’t looking. It needs some more work to make sure he doesnt try to be sneaky but he made a lot of progress today! – Robin

12/2 Stay until given release word

Koby was very distracted this morning.  I think the noise of the builders & the men around the place were too much first thing.  He settled after a while though & if you watch Jen’s video you will see we worked on recalls outside back & forth between us.  He did a great job! – Diana

12/3 Leave it and Dog Focus

Koby is doing great with his dog focus sessions! I set out some tennis balls for him to leave and that was tougher for him but he started focusing better and eventually caught on to leaving them – Whitney

12/3 Dog Focus with Mookie

Koby did fantastic again! we wanted to try him with a smaller dog to see how he reacted and we were able to walk him by. Great work! – Whitney

12/4 protocol for relaxation

Koby and I worked on staying today using the protocol for relaxation. The hardest part for him was my hand movement, so I worked specifically on that for most of our session. -Amanda

12/05 Outside focus to build stay

We worked on holding his stay outside with lots of distractions.  Also loose leash walking with halt, wait & release.  He did very well, loves verbal praise as well as treats! – Diana

12/5 Rally Obedience

Koby had a blast doing this rally course today! He has made great strides with his loose leash walking and heelwork and he enjoys training and interaction with people so much I knew he would love this, since rally is so much about teamwork. I look forward to more of this fun training in the future! – Whitney

12/6 Today I worked with Koby trying to determine his comfort levels with other dogs. He tends to bark in the run when other dogs walk by, but is much better on leash. Today I had another dog who is very good with other in one of the outdoor play yards while I worked outside of it with Koby. He was generally calm, but interested in the other dog even when only about 4 feet away. –Sorrel

12/6 Distractions

Koby did a great job with this! We worked in the lobby, around lots of distractions, and he was able to maintain great focus! Well done!  Remy

12/6 Foot Handling

We practiced a bit of paw handling during this session, to prepare for nail trims! This will be a skill that needs a bit more strengthening, but as usual, Koby caught on quickly!  Remy

12/7 Games for Recall

Koby worked on a game for recalls in this session and did a fabulous job! Way to go Koby! –Jenny

12/7 Nail trims & Cooperative care

Koby and I worked more on paw handling for nail trims! I would ask him for paw and for as long as the paw was in my hand I would  hand him treats. As soon as he took his paw back, treats ceased. He caught on extremely quickly. –Sorrel

12/8 Attention Walking

Today we walked through some attention walking.  Koby w\did a very nice job after a couple of minutes of excitement.  He is such a sweet boy.  Very smart and eager to please. We also worked on some recall work as well.

12/8 Leave it and Fetch

Koby and I reviewed his leave it cue by heeling past a hot dog that was on the ground. It was challenging for him and he did try to steal it a few times but overall he improved a lot and it was a good session. We wrapped it up with a game of fetch where he had to sit or do a basic behavior (down, look, paw touch) before I would throw the ball. It was fun! -Robin

12/09 Long line stays & release

Working on Koby’s distance stays.  He is doing better each time we work this & today I got several big distance – 12-15′ – stays with strong holds till released – Diana

(note: we are having some technical difficulties with the camera and videos that we have been unable to fix, the videos will be uploaded to your dropbox folder as is,  apologies for the excess amount of video as the camera isn’t properly turning off.)

12/10 Loose Leash Walking/Heeling Skills

Koby is just such a pleasure to work with! I look forward to our time together since he is so happy to work and is such a willing partner! He is excelling with loose leash walking, he maintains attention while walking, without treats and he sits in heel easily and is very attentive. He is a rockstar! – Whitney

12/10 Paws!

Great job, Koby! Koby was well focused, and progressed greatly throughout our session. Well done, sweet guy!  Remy

12/11 outside leash skills

Koby did a nice job working outside on the grass with me. We worked on loose leash walking and building up a nice heel as he was a little bouncy. -Amanda

12/11 Paw Handling

Koby did a great job with this. He continues to progress with this skill. Well done, sweet guy!  Remy

12/12 Stays on long line

Koby did a great job building distance holding his stay since he was very excited & full of energy this morning & took a while to settle.  I apologize, I’m having a dispute with the cameras apparently & did not capture his session this this morning – Diana

12/13 Paw Handling

This session was mostly unproductive, as even with kibble for treats Koby was way too excited about treats and kept slamming his paw towards me. He definitely has the connection that me holding his paw means treats, now we need to work on him only giving his paw when asked! —Sorrel

12/13 Stay with Distractions

Koby did a great job with this! We worked around lots of distractions, and he was able to progress with this skill, as well as his focus! Good boy, Koby!  Remy

12/14 Leave- Its – Sneaky boy

Koby does a really nice job with his leave-its, and this held true for this session – but we did see some sneaky behavior in this session which was great to work on.  Koby tended to try to get the leave-it cheese if he though I wasn’t paying attention, or we were close enough that he could reach with his paws and pull the mat with the leave-it cheese on it closer to him.  We’ll keep practicing! –Jenny

12/15 Station Stays

Today we did our first session on station stays where we asked for a extended stay on a raised surface.  Koby was a rockstar and did a great job with his stays.  He is such a fun loving boy and such a pleasure to work with. Liz

12/15 Fetch/Basics Outside

Koby had a fun session this afternoon. He played fetch with me and reviewed his basics outside with lots of distractions around. I was impressed with how much his fetch has improved (he would bring the ball to me and drop it instead of running around with it). His sit and recall were great, but sometimes when I cued him to go down he would try to paw my hand instead. – Robin

12/16 Loose leash walking outside

Koby did great as usual! He was a little excitable and unfocused at the beginning but quickly came back and gave great attention. He loves to work! – Whitney

12/16 The “Funel” Game

Koby worked more on his recalls with me in this session with our run through the legs pattern game.  He did such a good job was a super focused boy, even around other dogs walking outside. –Jenny

12/17 Settle/cot

Koby and I had a more relaxed session today working on staying on a cot and settling. He did great as long as I had cheese ( he will do anything for cheese!) but once I was out of food he was ready to get up! – Whitney

12/17 Lobby Fun!

We practiced focus in the lobby, and practiced with a little less treats than usual! Koby did a great job with all that he was asked of, and enjoyed some extra petting, too! Always love working with this awesome guy!  Remy

12/18 recalls

Koby and i worked on recalls outside and he did a great job! Even with lots of smells he was quick to come to me and did great with collar grabs too! -Amanda

12/18 Paw Handling

Koby did a great job with this, and continues to progress! He did a wonderful job with this, and allowed my to hold his paws with one hand, while I felt his nails with my other! Good boy!  Remy

12/19 Paw handling + stand

Today Koby worked on paw handling (not giving his paw unless asked) and on standing from a sit on cue. He did really well! –Sorrel

Koby loves agility! For a dog his size our room is a bit cramped but he enjoyed himself regardless. 🙂 –Sorrel

12/20 Settle

Koby did a great job with this! He was well focused and did a great job settling beside me with a kong, as well as treats occasionally dropped. Good boy!  Remy

12/21 The Cone Game

Koby worked on a activity that helps the human side of the leash (us!) maintain a high rate of reinforcement and feed our dogs for nice loose leash walking.  Koby did an excellent job! –Jenny

12/22 Dog Focus

We haven’t done a session with this for a while so I wanted to see how Koby was doing with it. He did beautifully! He looked at the other dog a few times but kept engaged with me and was focused as usual! Great work – Whitney

12/22 Stay

Koby worked on stay this afternoon but he had a lot of energy so I used playing with the tennis ball as a reward. Everytime he did a good stay, he got to play fetch. We also worked on him maintaining his stay while I sat on a stool. This was tough for him but he did manage to do it by the end of the session. I also used the tennis balls as distractions while he was in a stay. Great work! – Robin

12/23 Leave It

I worked with Koby today on leave it with toys. He did fantastic with this! He was very interested in a couple of the toys and tried to play with them, but even when he was about to pick the toy up he still responded to my “leave it” and came back to me for cheese! He is doing so well (just a note that the video did seem to cut itself off at some point during this session, not sure how much of it was recorded) – Whitney
